Types of Essay Examples
A lot of people these days are using essay examples to help them write persuasive essays for school. The Internet is loaded with free and paid examples, but how do you know which ones are good and which ones are poor? The fact of the matter is that most of the examples you’ll find are poorly written and don’t provide you with any useful tips or techniques to build your argument. There are many good college essay examples out there, but the key is to find the ones that illustrate a particular argument or prove a particular point in an impressive way. To do this, I’m going to show you five ways that these types of essay examples can help you craft a better argument.
It’s all about how you structure your argumentative essay examples. College students are often advised to use expository essays because they’re easier to understand and more familiar to university professors. Expository essays involve a series of ideas and arguments that are supported by personal experience. You won’t find any mention of literary devices or other forms of technical writing in an expository essay, however.
Narrative essays, on the other hand, are an excellent example of how to use college essay examples to craft a good argument. Unlike expository essays, narrative essays don’t need to tell a story. They just need to give you a specific example (a vignette) or a single instance (a mini-novella) of a particular experience and then use the story to support your argument. For example, you might describe how you worked as a carpenter’s assistant in junior high and how you learned to rely on your gut when it came to picking furniture. This will support your claim that woodworking is hard work. Now, you might argue that the experience you’ve gone through is not particularly relevant to your application for college, but either way, you need to construct a compelling argument.
Literary and descriptive essays are another example of how to use a variety of examples to support your argument. Literary examples can be novels and plays. But, more importantly, they can also be personal experiences. A literary example is your own experience.
Describing and expounding on your opinion. Another way to demonstrate your strength as a candidate by using expository essays. You can choose from many different types of expository essays, including argumentative ones, descriptive ones, and narrative ones. You can even write your own expository essay. The best expository essays are those that show a person’s ability to articulate their point of view using various examples, illustrations, and personal stories.
Political debate examples. There are literally dozens of different kinds of political argument examples. However, if you’re looking for strong persuasive essays that support your case for a particular political position, you should read a variety of political debate examples. Some examples of political debate examples include; George Washington, Lincoln, Johnson, Goldwater, Theodore Roosevelt, and others.
Literary essay examples. This is perhaps the best category of essay examples out there. You could simply go and read a bunch of literary works and come up with a bunch of interesting and compelling essays. However, literary essay examples are among the most powerful, because a lot of the time, these works of literature were written in response to a specific situation. Therefore, it makes perfect sense to read a few of these works and see if there’s some aspect of the situation that interests you.
